Doctor-led OEUK offshore medical fitness assessments, formerly OGUK, with same-day certification where the assessment is satisfactory and no further evidence is required.
The OEUK medical, formerly known as the OGUK medical, is the recognised medical fitness assessment used for workers deployed to the UK offshore energy industry.
The assessment is undertaken by an approved OEUK Medical Examiner and considers whether you are medically fit to work safely in the offshore environment, where access to medical care may be limited and emergency evacuation can be difficult.
The standard OEUK medical includes a doctor-led medical history, clinical examination and the assessments required for offshore medical certification.
Depending on your role and requirements, the assessment may include audiometry or spirometry.
Need both audiometry and spirometry?
If both tests are required, the total fee is £255.
The assessment is doctor-led and considers whether you are medically fit for the demands of offshore work. The exact assessment may vary according to your health, role and employer requirements.
Medical & Occupational History
We will review your medical history, current medication and any relevant health conditions, together with the requirements of your offshore role.
Doctor-Led Examination
The medical includes the clinical examination and fitness assessment required for OEUK offshore certification, including consideration of your ability to work safely in a remote offshore environment.
Role-Specific Testing
Depending on your role and medical requirements, the assessment may include audiometry or spirometry. Further tests or medical evidence may occasionally be required where clinically appropriate.
Where the assessment is satisfactory and no further evidence is required, certification can usually be completed the same day.
Your employer, training provider or mobilisation team may require additional certification or testing alongside your OEUK medical. The most common combinations and related offshore requirements are shown below.
